TypingMind for teams vs a team skill pod
TypingMind Teams and a team skill pod solve different problems. TypingMind Teams is a separate chat app for the whole team on the team's own API keys: an admin sets up the models, shared prompts, AI agents and plugins, and the bill is a monthly platform fee plus API usage. A skill pod leaves people in the Claude or ChatGPT they already use and shares the same skills into each of them. Choose TypingMind for one branded app with many models on your own keys, and a pod when people should keep their own AI; note that TypingMind's Team version doesn't support Agent Skills yet, per its docs.
Short answer
- TypingMind Teams: one chat app, your API keys, many models.
- A skill pod: the same skills in each person's own AI.
- Cost: TypingMind adds API usage to its fee.
- Skills: not in TypingMind's Team version yet.
What each does
| TypingMind Teams | AI Skill Pod | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A team chat app managed from an admin panel | A private skill library for a team |
| Where people work | In TypingMind, on your own domain if you like | In their own Claude, ChatGPT (Pro, Business or Enterprise; on Business and Enterprise an admin adds it first), Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or OpenCode, per the pod's own pages |
| How the AI is paid for | Your API keys; usage billed by each provider | Each person's existing AI plan |
| What's shared | Prompts, AI agents and plugins; MCP connections | Skills in the open SKILL.md format |
| Agent Skills (SKILL.md) | Personal version only; not in Teams yet | What it shares |
| Price | A monthly fee per plan with five seats included, plus API usage; see TypingMind's plan comparison, read 5 November 2026 | Free up to 3 members and 10 skills; Team $5 per seat a month from 3 seats |

A worked example: a 15-person agency
Illustration: a made-up business. A 15-person marketing agency wants every writer and designer to use the same briefs and checks. Its people pay for their own AI: nine on ChatGPT Plus, six on Claude Pro. The owner compares moving everyone into TypingMind Teams on the agency's API keys with a pod that shares skills into the AI they already use. Weights first, confirmed before scoring:
| Criterion (weight) | TypingMind Teams | Team pod |
|---|---|---|
| People keep the AI they know (30) | 2: everyone moves into a new app (vendor docs) | 3: the six on Claude stay where they are; the nine on ChatGPT Plus would move to Claude, since the pod reaches ChatGPT only on Pro, Business or Enterprise, unless they upgrade to Pro or the agency moves to ChatGPT Business (vendor claim, unverified) |
| The same methods for everyone (25) | 4: shared prompt library, agents and plugins on every plan; no skills in Teams yet (vendor docs, unverified) | 4: shared skills, one edit reaches everyone (vendor claim, unverified) |
| Cost over 2 years for 15 (20) | [check: the plan fee, extra seats and a month of API usage from a trial] | [check: price on the pod's pricing page] |
| Choice of models (15) | 5: OpenAI, Claude and Gemini models on your keys (vendor docs) | 3: whatever each person's AI uses |
| Admin control (10) | 4: admin panel; roles, per-user limits and SSO on the top plan (vendor docs, unverified) | [check: member and skill controls in a trial] |
Risks. TypingMind: API usage rises and falls with use, so the monthly cost moves; people work in a new app; skills aren't in the Team version yet. The pod: a newer product; its ChatGPT route needs Pro, Business or Enterprise; it isn't a chat app or a model provider.
The totals wait for the price checks, and neither option keeps everyone where they are. TypingMind moves all fifteen into a new app; the pod keeps the six on Claude in place but moves the nine on ChatGPT Plus to Claude, unless they upgrade to Pro or the agency moves to ChatGPT Business. So the two-week trial tests that move: two writers on Claude and two of the Plus users, switched to Claude, use the pod, and the agency asks the Plus users whether they'd stay on Claude. If they wouldn't, it prices Pro or Business seats against TypingMind's fee and API usage before deciding. If it later wants one branded chat for clients on its own keys, that's a TypingMind-shaped job.
Choose
- Name the job: one team chat app, or the same methods in everyone's own AI.
- One branded app, many models, your API keys: TypingMind Teams.
- People keep their own Claude or ChatGPT, with shared skills: a pod.
- Price both for your seat count over two years, including TypingMind's API usage.
- Trial on a few people and turn the unverified scores into tested ones.

Questions
What is TypingMind for Teams?
A chat app for a team that runs on the team's own API keys from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. An admin sets up the keys, models, shared prompts, AI agents and plugins, and invites members, who sign in by email (SSO on the top plan). It's billed as a monthly platform fee plus whatever the API usage costs.
Does TypingMind Teams support skills?
Not yet. TypingMind's docs, read on 5 November 2026, say Agent Skills (SKILL.md packages) work in the Personal version only and that the Team version doesn't support them at the moment. Teams shares prompts, AI agents and plugins instead, and connects to MCP servers.
When does a team skill pod fit better than TypingMind Teams?
When people should keep working in the Claude or ChatGPT they already use and the goal is the same methods in all of them, without moving everyone into a new app or paying per token. That's the pod's own description; trial it on a few people first. TypingMind fits a team that wants one branded chat app with many models on its own keys.

Have your AI compare vendors on what matters to you
Put this skill in AI Skill Pod and everyone on your team gets it in their Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT (Pro, Business, Enterprise): one invite link, free to start. Vendor comparison with weighted scores has your AI compare tools before you commit: criteria and weights you confirm before scoring, must-haves as pass or fail, a score with its evidence for each criterion, the total cost over the term at your seat count, risks per option, and anything only the vendor claims marked unverified.
