Paying for Claude Team or ChatGPT Business when your company pays by invoice

No: Claude Team and self-serve ChatGPT Business both take card payment only. Claude's pricing page marks invoicing and net terms as not available on Team, and offers them only on Enterprise bought through sales; OpenAI's help says Business takes credit and debit cards, with invoices only on Enterprise or Edu contracted through sales. If your company pays only by invoice, the choice is a company card with approval or an Enterprise contract, and the Enterprise minimums rarely fit a small team.

Short answer

  • Claude Team: card only.
  • ChatGPT Business: credit or debit card only.
  • Invoices: Enterprise, through sales.
  • Tax: added on top where it applies.

If your company pays only by invoice

  1. Ask finance for a card exception for the seats you need, with the plan, seat count and renewal date in one line.
  2. Or price an Enterprise contract through sales, if the team is large enough for its minimum.
  3. Keep every invoice and receipt the vendor issues for the card payments, for your books and any tax claim.
  4. Review seats before each renewal, so the card is charged only for seats people use.

A worked example: six people, card only

Illustration: a made-up business. A six-person design studio wants Claude Team for four people and ChatGPT Business for two. Its rule is to pay suppliers by invoice, neither plan offers one, and Claude's self-serve Enterprise starts at 20 seats. The finance lead approves a company card for both plans, with the renewal dates in the studio's tool list, and files each month's receipts. The studio's proposal and client-email skills sit in AI Skill Pod, so all six, and its contractors, use the same ones without more AI seats.
