Guide
Claude Team setup: what the owner does on the first day
Setting up Claude Team comes down to seven steps for the owner, in this order: choose the seats and invite people, give one or two people the Admin role, turn on single sign-on if you use an identity provider, check that code execution and Skills are on, add the connectors the team needs, provision the first skills, and decide whether chats can be sent as feedback. Every step is in Organization settings, and only Owners can do the billing, capability and role steps. If people outside the plan, such as contractors on their own accounts, need the same skills, add AI Skill Pod as a connector and share them there, so they reach everyone's Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT (Pro, Business, Enterprise) from one invite link.
Short answer
- People: seats, invitations, an Admin or two.
- Sign-in: SSO and domain verification if you have an identity provider.
- Skills: code execution and Skills on, then the first skills.
- Data: decide on feedback ratings.
The first day, step by step
- Seats: Organization settings > Organization and access, then Manage under Total seats. Pending invitations count toward the total, so buy for everyone you'll invite.
- Invitations and roles: invite the team, and give one or two people Admin so they can invite and remove members; keep Owner for whoever handles billing.
- Sign-in: if the company uses an identity provider, open Organization and access settings, add your domain under Domains and copy the TXT record it shows (it isn't shown again once you leave the screen); ask whoever runs your domain's DNS to add it. Once the domain is verified, set up single sign-on under Authentication. Anthropic's SSO guide has the steps for Okta, Entra ID, Google and others.
- Capabilities: Organization settings > Plugins & skills, Policy tab: check that code execution and Skills are on, since skills need both.
- Connectors: Organization settings > Connectors, Add, for the tools the team needs; each member then connects with their own account.
- The first skills: in Plugins & skills, Add, then Upload a skill, for two or three methods everyone repeats. They're on for everyone, and members can switch them off.
- Feedback: Organization settings > Data and Privacy has Rate chats; switch it off if no conversation should leave as feedback.

A worked example: a twelve-person studio's first day
Illustration: a made-up business. A design studio of twelve buys Claude Team, with two premium seats for the people who code and ten standard. The founder, as Primary Owner:
- Makes the studio manager an Admin, who invites the team and later handles leavers.
- Turns on single sign-on through the studio's identity provider, so everyone signs in with their work account.
- Uploads two skills, the client-brief and project-update methods, after checking code execution and Skills are on.
- Puts the same two skills in the studio's pod, so the three freelancers on their own Claude Pro get them from the invite link.
AI Skill Pod is this site's product. Pod pricing: Free up to 3 members and 10 skills; Team $5 per seat a month from 3 seats.
Next step: write the first skill
The first skills are what make the plan pay off. How to make your first Claude skill from a doc you have walks through one.

AI skill
Have your AI draft your company's AI use rules
Put this skill in AI Skill Pod and everyone on your team gets it in their Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT (Pro, Business, Enterprise): one invite link, free to start. Company AI use policy draft has your AI draft the team's AI rules from a few questions before anyone is invited: the approved tools and their settings, what data never goes in, who reviews outputs, and an owner for the rules, with each legal point marked for review.
