Guide
How to share Notion pages with clients and contractors outside your workspace
To share a Notion page with someone outside your workspace, open Share and invite them by email as a guest, choose their access level, and pick Skip for now so they aren't added as a member; for a page they only read, a link anyone on the web can open with an expiry date works without inviting anyone. Use their own email address, because an address on your company's domain joins as a paid member, and when the work ends, remove the guest under Settings in the Guests tab. Guests can't connect Notion MCP, so for your AI instructions, share them as skills through AI Skill Pod: clients and contractors get them in their own Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT (Pro, Business, Enterprise) from one invite link.
Short answer
- Edit together: invite a guest, then Skip for now.
- Read only: a public link with an expiry date.
- Their own email, not one on your domain.
- Remove guests when the work ends.
Three ways to share outside the workspace
| Way | Fits | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Invite a guest | Someone who edits or comments on specific pages | Free allows 10 guests; an address on your domain becomes a paid member |
| Anyone on the web with link | A page someone only reads, for a while | Anyone with the link can open it; set Link expires |
| Publish | A page meant for the public, such as a help page | It's on the web for everyone |

Invite a guest to a page
- Open the page and click Share at the top right.
- Enter their email address, their own and not one on your company's domains.
- Choose an access level: Full access (edit and share), Can edit, Can comment or Can view.
- Click Invite, then Skip for now, so they're added as a guest and not a member. They get an email with a link and sign up if they don't use Notion.
Remove access when the work ends
- One page: open its Share menu and change or remove the person.
- Every page: a workspace owner or membership admin opens Settings, then People or Members, goes to the Guests tab, and removes the guest.
- A shared link: turn general access back off, or let the expiry date do it.
A worked example: one client project
Illustration: a made-up business. A consultant runs a three-month project for a client whose two managers edit the project plan and whose finance lead only reads the monthly summary. She:
- Invites the two managers as guests with Can edit on the project page, from their company addresses, which aren't on her domain.
- Sends the finance lead a link set to Anyone on the web with link, expiring at the project's end date.
- Shares her AI instructions as skills. The client's managers want her meeting-summary format in their own Claude, and guests can't use Notion MCP, so she puts that skill in a pod for this client and invites them to it.
- At the end, removes both guests in the Guests tab and removes the managers from the pod; the link has already expired.
AI Skill Pod is this site's product. Pod pricing: Free up to 3 members and 10 skills; Team $5 per seat a month from 3 seats.
Next step: hand clients your AI work
If clients want your methods in their own AI, not just your pages, Deliver your method to clients as AI skills covers packaging it as skills they use from their own accounts.

Questions
How do I share a Notion page with someone outside my workspace?
Open the page, click Share, enter their email address, choose an access level and click Invite, then choose Skip for now so they join as a guest, not a member. Use an address outside your company's domains: an address on them is added as a paid member.
How do I remove a guest from Notion?
A workspace owner or membership admin opens Settings, then People or Members, goes to the Guests tab, and removes the guest from their pages or from the workspace. To end access to one page, change or remove them from that page's Share menu.
Can a Notion share link expire?
Yes, for a link anyone can open. In Share, set general access to Anyone on the web with link, open the dropdown next to it, and choose a date under Link expires. On Enterprise, owners can turn public links off for the workspace.
AI skill
Have your AI check a contractor agreement before you sign
Put this skill in AI Skill Pod and everyone on your team gets it in their Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT (Pro, Business, Enterprise): one invite link, free to start. Contractor agreement checklist has your AI check the agreement before anyone outside the company opens your pages: the scope, who owns the work, confidentiality and the return of materials, payment, how it ends, and signs the person is really an employee.
